An intermittent alignment issue with the sensors or damaged sensor wiring or a failing sensor could sometimes make it impossible for the system to determine if anything is under the door and again it will prevent the door from closing normally.

If i let go of the bottom the door stops.
If the door can be reasonably easily opened and closed by hand but the opener balks at closing the door the tension setting probably needs to be increased.
It attempted to lift amd shut off due to the lock.
If an operational problem exists and the garage door opener will not close the opener can be forced to close.
Not a small light is the big ones out front that are flickering not the one in back t of the motor.

After i hold the button down to close it the sensor lights come back on.

Wireless remote works open the door but will not close the light out front starts flickering when we try to it with the wireless remote so we go inside push the button on the wall and hold it till it closes the door all the way.
